About Us...

Thunderbolt Photography started as a personal side project within a rock and metal night club by Richard back in 2011. From there it grew from covering night club photography and progressed to where is stands today providing various professional services since 2014.

Hi there! I'm Richard, the name of kings and madmen. I'm a multiple disciplined Cheshire based photographer.
I've worked 5 years as a product photographer and technical writer for an international company and have been involved in many projects.

I love to shoot portraits, live gigs, events and alternative weddings. I've had printed work in various magazines such as,
Kultur Mag, Metal Hammer, Pinstriping & Kustom Graphics Magazine, various SAM Publications and numerous branded products.

I'm heavily involved with and influenced by the alternative music scene which fits my style perfectly.
The music, styles, tattoos all make for a very colourful array of individuals, perfect for creating images that reflect character.

For larger more involving projects I work with a small hand picked capable team of assistants and 2nd shooters.
I hope to soon add hair and makeup to the current team lineup for a more complete service.

I like to meet up with clients for coffee (and cake) to get to know them a little and clearly understand what they wish to achieve in a session.
